Poems

Poems are lines inspired by people and objects around us, but decorated with figures of speech.

Some partners show us how to write a poem, which includes simile, metaphor, personification, euphemism, hyperbole…

You, mom

By Valentina Sánchez

You are the biggest sunshine in my life

Your lighting is so powerful

Even the flowers don´t need sun to stay alive.

Metaphor

Your love is like a red rose

Waiting for smiles as water

To be full of life.

Simile

Even when the days are cloudily

The sun looks for you
because you make him smile.

Personification

As you can make me smile

You could turn every smile in the world

Into honey drops.

Hyperbole

Pu! Pu! Pu! Honey falling

All over the place

People are full of your sweetness.

Onomatopoeia

Hope and faith are your best friends

´cause you couldn´t be more full of life

The envy would be so jealous.

Apostrophe

Your teachings

Words of wisdom

World would be with no war.

Alliteration

Proud daughter

Proud girl

Proud human

For being your little girl.

Anaphora

You are a gift

From God

From life

He treasures you

So do I

I love you mom.

 Alliteration - Anaphora

Brothers or best friends?

By Santiago Sabogal

Brothers, blesses and best friends

One day I love, one day I hate

They help me like a friend,

and give me complains like a mother.

They are my guardian angels, or demons…

Sometimes they were angry as a bear.

And sometimes they were helpful like a angel

They were the best of the family and worst of the family

Hi darkness, my old brother..

bye sweetheart, again

They eat for live, but don't live for eat

They are able

They are unfit

One of them is so slow

That he never understand my jokes

But they are my life, and my death

My mom, my love

By A1 students

She can touch my knees

And make me feel ok

She is the best doctor

Full of love and faith

Being her child is a present

Being her child is a pleasure

My mom is always a gift

My mom is really a treasure

She is a super heroine

Her soul is white like a dove

She’s my heroine, she’s my life

She’s my mom, she’s my love.

I can’t live without you, mom

Never leave me, never

But if death moves us away

You’ll be my mom forever
